Some thoughts are beneficial
While others of no use
Some thoughts illuminate the path
While others bear no truth
When obstacles appear in life
Large boulders you can’t move
Don’t bang your head upon the rocks
Instead go get a clue
Secure the tools to break them down
Or ways to get around
Use the fulcrum of intellect
To wedge them from the ground
Don’t deny their existence
Positive thoughts--if false
Can never move reality
Nor bring woes to a halt
It’s good to think on problems
Which we work to resolve
It’s daft to feed our misery
If answers don’t evolve
Do thoughts produce depression?
Or do they bring results?
A useful plan of action?
Or conclude there’s no hope?
Determine thoughts that help you
And those which break you down
Cultivate optimism
But with both feet on the ground
Never dwell on the negative
Never deny your error
Never entertain evil
Never yield to despair
