Life Could Flash Before Your Eyes
Life's a play, the world's a stage
All actors in the script we write
In a moment death could take you
Life could flash before your eyes
Spark of life ignite conception
Naked from the womb we fair
Cut the cord, inflict the spanking
Gasp for our first breath of air
Feeding from the breast of instinct
Suckling the social mirror
Weaned and walking, soon we're talking
Mimic all you see and hear
Play the game, we climb the ladder
Learning from the book of rules
Off to school to take our places
Make the grade or made a fool
Don the strength of adolescence
New sensations fan the fire
Social mores will pose the question
Feed the flame, or quench desire
In the prime of life
We taste the fruits from the sweat of our brow
Faced with passing time we waste
Will haunt us in our final hour
Feel the stillness of our autumn
Friends as leaves are passing on
Are the memories all forgotten
When the final curtains drawn
In the flux of death awaken
Welcome to the other side
Reacquaint with fellows taken
Gained to prize eternal life
